Scanning has proven an extremely efficient method for survey data collection. This training course will show how to process scanned point cloud data using TBC to derive quality CAD products which can be used for inspection, drafting, or export to 3rd party software.
Using examples from Trimble’s popular SX10 scanning total station, this class will include:
- Importing, viewing, and rendering point cloud data in Trimble Business Center
- Registering “scan station” data
- Creating, classifying, and isolating scan “regions”
- Generating core CAD deliverables, including points, lines, surfaces and contours
- Productivity tools such as Smart Pick and Virtual DR
- Working with cutting planes, limit boxes, surface slicer and other views
- Digital orthophoto creation
- Boundaries, breaklines and volumes
You will need a computer that meets minimum system requirements for TBC and the ability to download internet data.
Registered attendees will receive a 30-day demo code for TBC, download links for course sample datasets and resource information. This session will be recorded and a replay link will be provided for those wishing to review at their own pace.

Scanning has proven an extremely efficient method for survey data collection. This training course will show how to process scanned point cloud data using TBC to derive quality CAD products which can be used for inspection, drafting, or export to 3rd party software.
Using examples from Trimble’s popular SX10 scanning total station, this class will include:
- Importing, viewing, and rendering point cloud data in Trimble Business Center
- Registering “scan station” data
- Creating, classifying, and isolating scan “regions”
- Generating core CAD deliverables, including points, lines, surfaces and contours
- Productivity tools such as Smart Pick and Virtual DR
- Working with cutting planes, limit boxes, surface slicer and other views
- Digital orthophoto creation
- Boundaries, breaklines and volumes
You will need a computer that meets minimum system requirements for TBC and the ability to download internet data.

This online class is designed for new Trimble Business Center (TBC) users. Special emphasis will be given to valuable learning resources and additional self-training materials. Using example files from total station and RTK/GPS field survey data, our focus will be on the following topics:
- Understanding and navigating TBC’s user interface
- Core functions including project creation, general settings, and data import/export
- Working with different views and spreadsheets
- Quality analysis and basic data editing tools

This is an intermediate-level course building on topics covered in our TBC General Survey class. You should be familiar with basic TBC operations to take this class. The class will consist of discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises. Download links to course handouts, sample datasets, and resource information will be provided prior to the class.
Topics will include:
- Working with RTK data, including point and vector analysis, data editing tools, and report generation
- Leveraging OPUS, RTX-PP, and other online services
- Understanding “grid and ground”, scale factors, and the use of TBC’s Local Site Settings routine
- Utilizing TBC’s powerful “Internet Download” capabilities
- Configuration and download of CORS data
- Static GNSS baseline post-processing
- Baseline analysis, review, and troubleshooting
- Network adjustment
- Creation and export of quality deliverables
