Event Details

This class is designed for new TBC users and those with limited experience who would like to become more proficient.  General course topics to include:

  • Installation & licensing
  • Settings and configuration
  • Understanding the user interface
  • Standalone utilities, including:
    • Coordinate System Manager
    • Feature Definition Manager

Specific topics to include:

  • Starting a new project
  • Data import, export, and report generation
  • Using graphical views & spreadsheets
  • Creating & working with feature definition libraries
  • Working with GNSS data
  • Working with Total Station data

Based on class interest & time, additional topics may include:

  • Introduction to Scan Data processing
  • Working with Digital Level data


  • Each student will need own portable/laptop PC meeting minimum system requirements for TBC (details upon request)
  • Sufficient administrative rights to install and/or successfully operate the TBC software
  • Though not specifically required, WiFi capability & ability to access the internet is strongly recommended. Google Earth (freeware) may be helpful for some exercises

30-day full-use Demo licenses and current version TBC download links will be emailed prior to class.  To ensure success, and since limited time will be available to troubleshoot during class, students are requested to install & activate their software prior to the course.  Technical support will be available.

In-class exercises will be used to emphasize learning topics, and to obtain necessary knowledge & resources to take and help pass the TBC Certified User Exam.
